The regulator contends that the campaign serves as surrogate advertising for Vimal Pan Masala, a product banned in the state.

FDA Actions and Requirements surrogate Advertising Claims:

The FDA argues that promoting the “Vimal” brand, even for cardamom, creates a direct link to the banned pan masala.Mandated Actions: The actors are required to withdraw from the campaign and remove associated promotions from digital platforms within 15-19 days.

Documentation Demanded:

The FDA has requested details of the endorsement contracts, compensation, and proof of due diligence from the actors.
