Supreme Court Refuses to Stop Abhijit Dipke’s September 5 Delhi Protest

The Supreme Court has refused to stop the rally scheduled for September 5, led by Abhijit Dipke of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). The Supreme Court dismissed the petition filed against this rally. The hearing took place before Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. The CJP has threatened to stage a protest in Delhi once again on September 5, alleging that the Central Government failed to fulfill the promises made during the Jantar Mantar protest on July 25.
According to the report, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant stated that there is no concrete reason to assume that any untoward incident will take place. In reality, the petition had sought to stop the proposed demonstrations until the completion of the BRICS Summit. Notably, the summit is scheduled for September 12 and 13, whereas the CJP’s demonstration is on September 5.

While hearing the petition, Chief Justice Surya Kant stated that authorities are expected to maintain law and order. He added that all parties are acting peacefully and responsibly, and are bound by the law.
What is the CJP’s Plan?
On Monday, the Cockroach Janata Party announced its plan to march in Delhi on September 5. The party accused the government of failing to fulfill the assurances given on July 25, based on which the CJP had called off its 36-day hunger strike at Jantar Mantar against exam irregularities. Scheduled for Teacher’s Day on September 5, the march will start from India Gate and proceed to the Delhi Police Headquarters.
CJP President Abhijit Dipke stated that families of students who committed suicide following the decision to conduct a re-NEET exam after the initial NEET exam cancellation will lead the September 5 protest in Delhi.
Recently, a meeting of the CJP Working Committee was held, where the decision for the Delhi protest was taken. The CJP stated, “Our patience should not be mistaken for weakness. Our goodwill must not be allowed to become an opportunity for the government to betray the youth of the country.”
