CM Devendra Fadnavis interacts with the farmers and locals in Lambota village of Nilanga taluka in Latur dist. While speaking CM said, I know that farmers are suffering because of water scarcity since last 4 yrs & this is my 3rd visit to this taluka. Today, our 1 minister is visiting 1 taluka & these visits are for reviewing the progress of our schemes. We are suffering because of nature as well as mistakes in the past, water problem has never been addressed in planned way. The poor have being their showing their richness as they’ve contributed ₹ 350 crore for #JalYuktShivarAbhiyan. We have made a systematic plan to make Maharashtra drought free in 5 years through this movement of #JalYuktShivar . If we make provision to supply water &power to farmers, not only he himself would survive,but he will have the capacity to empower others. We are successful in giving record number of power connections to farmers in last 1 year;many were pending since 5-10 yrs. After the record breaking financial aid to farmers,govt launched a scheme to give farm ponds to all those who ask for it. And I am happy to inform that in just 3 days, 24000 farmers applied for this scheme with all required documents. This scheme will be implemented through MNREGA, that too by giving direct subsidy, which will help speed up the work. Around 5 lakh people are given work/employment & we waived education fees amounting to ₹ 40 crore for approx 10 lakh students. Govt has been making water available through tankers in all villages which require it. First time in the history of state, fodder camps are set up in the month of Oct & will continue to be there till needed. We have made a provision of about ₹ 18,000 crore in the just 2 years, as against ₹ 8,000 crore in the last 15 yrs. We have issued orders to give relief to those farmers too,who haven’t applied for insurance,help be deposited directly in bank account. We do not believe in policy rigidness and would make amendments or changes as and when the situation demands. We also empowering the Self Help Groups of women by lending loans at 0% which will help the farmer’s family. 20000 farmers got benefitted in various health camps and soon it will be organised in all the districts of Marathwada. CM orders the collector and tahsildar to immediately file FIR even if a single farmer is deprived of food security scheme.
