Mumbai : Father-daughter duo has been arrested for cheating a fashion designer and several others in Mumbai. They rendered the fashion designer penniless, swindling her crores of rupees and forgery on the pretext of buying her a dream house in their redevelopment project.
Police have registered FIR at DB Marg and MRA police station against the father and daughter identified as Manish Harjivandas Shah and Kanchi Manish Shah.
Kanchi Shah was working with Park Hotels. The father-daughter duo was absconding and was giving police the slip for the past five months. The duo applied for bail at the Sessions Court, High Court, and Supreme Court but it was rejected.
Finally, the duo surrendered in early March this year when proclamation was initiated and were in DB Marg Police Station. Now, they are in the custody of MRA police station.It has learned from our sources that the police is giving them undue favor’s On 27th March, 2016, MRA Police Officer, brought Kanchi Shah to her home at Grant road twice, once at 2pm & again at 5pm. She has given a private car instead of official police vehicle without any handcuffs and even allowed to carry Novels for reading in custody. Lots of questions are being raised by citizens about the favor’s given to Kanchi Manish Shah & Manish Harjivandas Shah.
