Nagpur will be made smart & safe city: CM

Nagpur: For any city to be smart, apart from beautiful buildings and good roads, sufficient water supply, waste disposal management, sewarage treatment plant are essential. By providing these amenities, Nagpur will be turned into not only smart but safe city as well. For this, a safe city project will be soon put in place. This assurance was given by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday.

Fadnavis inaugurated series of projects including the expansion project of Bhandewadi sewage treatment plant (STP), Nalanda Nagar water tank, Bhoomipujan of cement road and dedication of Onkar Nagar water tank to the people. Later, he spoke at the main function held at Onkar Nagar square.

Prominently present on the occasion were Union surface transport and shipping minister Nitin Gadkari, guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, mayor Pravin Datke, MP Krupal Tumane, deputy mayor Munna Pokulwar, legislators Krishna Khopde, Sudhakar Deshmukh, Anil Sole, Dr Milind Mane, leader of ruling party in Nagpur Municipal Corporation Dayashankar Tiwari, municipal commissioner Shravan Hardikar, NIT chairman Shyam Wardhane, PGGanvir, Sandeep Joshi, Sunil Agrawal, Nitin Shah of RPS Infrastructure, Anil Ashtankar of Anjaneya Developers, Kuntal Ashtankar of Genesis Infrastructure, and others.

The introductory speech was made by the additional chief secretary of public works department Anand Kulkarni. The proceedings were conducted by legislator Sudhakar Kohle, while a vote of thanks was proposed by chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Singare.
