No blanket increase in ready reckoner rate in Mumbai: Revenue Minister

NAGPUR: There will be no blanket increase in the ready reckoner rate of Mumbai city for the next calendar year. The revenue minister Eknath Khadse assured in the legislative assembly today.

 BJP MLA Ashish Shelar raised the issue in the assembly through point of information demanded not to increase ready reckoner of the Mumbai city. “The government increases ready reckoner rate every year by 15-20% leads to increase in the cost of houses and property tax as well,” said Shelar. Replying to this, Khadse announced that the government will study the effect of the ready reckoner on the housing and property tax. “But there will not be blanket increase in RR rate,” he said in the house.
 Sources however said that no blanket increase means, there may be separate RR rates for major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad and others, which would give some relief to home buyers.
 A delegation led by Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar, MLA Sardar Tarashingh, Yogesh Sagar, Mangalprabhat Lodha, Amit Satam met CM Devendra Fadnavis today morning at his official bungalow Ramgiri in Nagpur.
